About Thomas Rouse Law
Tom Rouse has been a sole practitioner or a member of small law firms for the vast majority of his now 39 years in the practice of law. He believes that this form of practice gives him greater flexibility to meet the needs of his clients in an affordable way with a personal touch. He opened an office in his home on May 1, 2010 in an effort to keep the overhead down so that his rates for legal services could remain reasonable.
Tom has been recognized as a leader of his profession and of his community. He served as President of the Kentucky Bar Association 2013 – 2014, the highest office a Kentucky attorney can hold. He was one of the founders of and served as president of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, and President of the Kenton County Bar. Northern Kentucky lawyers selected him as the 2004 Distinguished Lawyer. In 2012 Tom was awarded the Richard Lawrence Lifetime Achievement Award. He served as the Mayor of Erlanger, Kentucky for eight years and as a City Council member for 11 years before that. Tom was elected to other positions of leadership throughout his professional career and, before that, during his formal education at the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science and the University of Kentucky College of Law. Tom is an Adjunct Professor of law at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law and of Business Ethics at Northern Kentucky University. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and Thomas More College.
Tom practices in and has been recognized in the area of the ‘Law of Lawyering,’ ethics and professional responsibility. He serves as ethics counsel to various clients and is selected regularly to present continuing education seminars on the behavior of attorneys, their responsibilities to their clients, to the courts in which they practice and to their communities. He has been retained to offer legal opinions on controversies involving attorney conduct.

Years Of Experience In Kentucky Legal Matters
Tom also maintains an active general practice. He can be found regularly in northern Kentucky’s Family Courts representing clients in a wide range of family law matters. He represents people who have suffered injuries in accidents on the road, at home, in public places and in the workplace. He offers debt relief service through his bankruptcy practice. Tom assists people in developing their estate plans through the preparation of appropriate documents and, when the unfortunate time comes, represents estate fiduciaries such as executors and administrators in carrying out their duties.
Ever active in his community, Tom Rouse is an Elder at the Erlanger Christian Church (Disciples of Christ,) for 15 years was an assistant varsity football coach at his alma mater, Lloyd Memorial High School, in Erlanger Kentucky where he also served a term on Lloyd’s Site Based Council, and continues to speak to students when asked. Tom is an avid college football fan and follows with keen interest his Virginia Cavaliers, the Kentucky Wildcats and the Cincinnati Bearcats. He also enjoys watching local high school and college teams as they participate in basketball, baseball and lacrosse. His professional baseball team is the Cincinnati Reds, win or lose.
Tom is the father of two daughters, both teachers, and has two granddaughters and two grandsons as this is written.
